Quick Overview

Cel-Fi Roam R41 3G, 4G and 5G Mobile Phone Booster Repeater plug and play kit includes an RFI Donor Antenna of your choice, internal patch antenna, 12V power cable with cigarette lighter adaptor and grounding wire.

This setup is perfect for more hilly country where the lower gain antenna can baloon the signal out onto the hills, where a higher gain will try and push the signal into the hills. The Heavy duty antenna is great for 4WD's, cars, vans and trucks that venture onto rough roads or constantly on dirt roads and for hardcore off-road use.

We recommend a Cel-Fi Roam R41 with a 6.5dBi/7.5dBi antenna for marine applications.

The Celfi Roam R41 is a suitable direct replacement for the Cel-Fi GO G31 and G32 repeaters which only supported a few 3G and 4G bands whereas the Cel-Fi Roam R41 covers up to 7 bands from 3G to 5G across the mobile phone spectrum of Australian Cellular Operators.

Summary

    Stay Connected

The Cel-Fi Roam R41 is a plug n play mobile coverage solution that keeps your phones connected on the off-road or on the water. It doesn't matter whether you're making phone calls while you're out on boating adventures, travelling to remote areas in cross country travels or just need to keep phone drop-outs to a minimum, the Cel-Fi Roam R41 keeps you connected for longer.

    Setup in Minutes

The Cel-Fi Roam R41 kits are easily installed and setup with their plug and play antenna cabling, power cable with cigarette lighter adaptor to just plug in and power up, Bluetooth connectivity for device setup, Carrier selection and live monitoring via the Nextivity WAVE app. The slimline design allows for the Cel-Fi Roam R41 to be installed into tight places such as under seats or inside tight panels, while it's rugged frame can handle harsh conditions keeping you connected when it matters.

    Antennas

The Cel-Fi Roam R41 paired with a good quality donor antenna will pickup signals that a mobile phone is unable to connect to. The Cel-Fi is only part of the equation when it comes to connecting to weak signals as a Cel-Fi needs to see a signal before it will start to work. Some inferior and older style designed antennas on the market use old technologies such as a piece of coaxial wire twisted inside an antenna casing which does not cut the mustard in these days with higher frequencies and data rates. That's why we use and recommend RFI antennas with our mobile repeater systems. We (Tin Can Solutions) exhibit at lots field days around the country and speak with many people who live in remote areas that specifically come to buy RFI antennas as they have another brand installed, but they are not getting the same service as their mates parked next to them who are using RFI antennas. This speaks for itself and is proof that RFI antennas out perform other brands.

    Specifications

    Mobile Antenna Selection

You need to select the external donor antenna that will suit your requirements and there are 3 important factors to consider when selecting the CORRECT antenna which are in order of importance:

    1. Gain
    2. Strength and Durability
    3. Removeable Whip

    Donor Antenna Gain Options
    GainSuitable for
    5dBi

Around and close-ish to town or where the cellular towers are located in built up or hilly areas. Perfect for in the bush not that far out of town where signal is scratchy.

Shorter distance but much better in hilly/bushy terrain.

    6.5dBi

This is an all round antenna suitable for further out of town but slightly flatter terrain.

This is the antenna gain that we (Tin Can Solutions Owners) use and recommend which we have been able to achieve an extra 50km useable Telstra service compared to another phone on Telstra not connected to the Cel-Fi. We have been able to run our business remotely by taking phone calls and process orders in places that we normally would't be able to without this setup.

This antenna is a good all-rounder for marine/boating applications.

    7.5dBi

Suitable for flat/undulating terrain where longer distances are required but there's no mountains around blocking the signal.

Perfect for people who live and work in these locations or for people who are going to do a fair bit of travel in these areas.

This antenna is a good choice for marine/boating applications requiring that bit further distance.

    8.5dBi

Suitable for VERY flat/undulating terrain where much longer distances are required and there's definitely no mountains around blocking the signal.

An option for people who live and work in really flat locations or for people who are going to travel in these areas.

For people who don't live and work in these areas, we recommend setting up the system with a 6.5dBi antenna and then having a spare 8.5dBi whip to swap over when travelling into really flat terrain.

This antenna is a great choice for marine/boating applications for when a long way out at sea, but in flat seas only because when the boat rocks from side to side, the signal beamwidth being broadcast from the antenna is very flat and will also rock up and down sending the signal into the sky and the water which will cause drop-outs.

The collinear donor antennas that we supply for mobile/moving applications come in 3 versions.

    • Fixed Whip on Standard Duty Spring - RFI CD Series Antennas - Perfect for highway use and mild dirt roads, comes with a standard duty spring base. These are a fixed whip antenna and cannot be removed from the base.
    • Removable Whip on Medium Duty Spring - RFI CDR Series Antennas - Better suited to highway use with dirt roads thrown in and come with a medium duty spring base and removeable whip which unscrews off the base to store when not in use.
    • Heavy Duty Mothership - RFI CDQ Series Antennas - Perfect for severely corrugated dirt roads, 4WDing/Off-roading and commercial/industrial use. These are really tough antennas which look the part and come with a heavy duty spring base and a RFI Quickfit® removeable whip which unscrews off the base to store when not in use.

We also stock the RFI CSM600 magnetic base antenna for applications where you want to take the unit between vehicles or structures. The magnetic base cellular LTE antenna is only recommended for highway/sealed roads use where the signal is scratchy such as 1 bar of service that you need to get that little bit of extra service but don't want to mount an antenna to your vehicle. The antenna gain is 2.5dBi to 4dBi so it is suited to shorter distances where service intermittently breaks up between mobile phone towers. This solution will improve the mobile phone service when there is a sniff of service outside.

So which Antenna do you get?

There is a highly informative and totally independent review/article on testing of some well known brands of Cel-Fi Go compatible antennas and which ones performed the best. This link is to an external website called "CHOICE" and we have absolutely no affilliation with the author or the website. click here for the article which we think is a worthy read.

This article clearly shows that the RFI antennas outperform other brands by over 10km and this is the exact reason why we believe in RFI Antennas to which we are an Authorised RFI Dealer in Capalaba Brisbane and a Capalaba QLD stockist of RFI antennas.

We believe RFI antennas are simply the best available on the market.
